Well. I don't NEED one, but I surely would like one.
Unfortunately, we already have 4 laptop and two desktop puters, so I am finding it hard to justify the $2000 for this ultimate expression of the electronic gadget.

Now there's a capital idea!!
It just might work.....
Support a starving student, AND get a new laptop. A win-win, as we say in the business world.
(well, other than my bank account, it probably won't win!)
my heart aches for you jamie.... i hope you are able to cope with your present computers ... but then again... what's the point of having a FAST computer, when dial up just slows you back down again....
I think you should go back to a Macintosh 64 with DOS..... might make the dial up seem fast..... and that monocrhome screen on your garage puter could get a new lease on life!!!
You and your brother are so alike! ;)
